Who Said What (21)

“Do not feel guilty about something you did not do. After talking with some Koreans, who felt guilty about the murder of 32 college students at the University of Virginia by a Korean student, I want to say the above sentence as forcefully as I possibly can. In the United States, we treat people as individuals. Each person has free will and is responsible for what he does. This slaughter is a terribly evil thing, but it was done by only one man and no one else should feel guilty about it. Let me say it another way. Don’t accept any unearned guilt - ever.”
                                                                             --Jack Crawford

Jack是一个在图书馆免费教英文的美国老头。这种用理性眼光看待个体灾难性事件而非动辄上升到民族仇恨的态度值得借鉴。
